The British Board of Agrément (BBA) is the UK's major authority offering approval and inspection services to manufacturers and installers supplying the construction industry. Originally set up in 1966 by Government, but now an independent non- profit distributing organisation, the BBA's certification and inspection services are recognised by building control, local authorities, industry insurers and key trade associations in the construction industry.

Installers of solid wall systems can now join the BBA's Competent Person Scheme (CPS) to self-certify their solid wall insulation work. The BBA will issue a certificate to the installer's customer and advise the relevant Local Authority that the work has taken place.

The Blue Flame Certification Competent Persons Scheme is Government Approved and has been designed for trade's people to enable them to meet these requirements and is authorised by MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government).
